Supervisor of Instruction and Facilities
Mr. Dave Chupa

The Johnson City Schools are dedicated to providing outstanding instruction for all students each and every day of the school year.  In order to provide this instruction to our students, teachers are provided with staff development, teacher mentoring and curriculum resources that are data driven and research proven.  All teachers are evaluated two times during every five year cycle to be assisted in improvement of their teaching.

The Johnson City Schools are also engaged in a “Learning Plan” that calls for nearly fifty million dollars in facilities renovation culminating with the reconfiguration of schools in the year 2010.  These facilities updates will demand an aggressive building program that will have major impact on Indian Trail, Liberty Bell, Science Hill High School and a new Fairmont Elementary.  The process will grant relief to over crowded elementary schools by reconfiguring those schools to Pre-K through fourth grades.

Our Schools are also engaged in an energy management study to improve our use of energy resources.  We wish to be responsible citizens helping to save resources for the future of our children.

If you wish to contribute to the success of our efforts to improve teaching and update school facilities to be among the best in Tennessee please feel free to contact our office at chupad@jcschools.org.
