2010-2011 Scholarship Information

Seniors with outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character who are interested in scholarship competition at North Carolina State University need to see their counselor.  The prestigious Park Scholarship (valued at $136,000) deadline is September 15th. 

 

Counselors are accepting resumes for students interested in competing for the Roan Scholars Leadership Program Nomination for Science Hill.   The deadline for students interested in attending ETSU and applying for this highly competitive scholarship is September 15th.  You must have demonstrated leadership, excellent academics, commitment to community service and evidence of physical activity to be considered.

 

Applications for the Niswonger Foundation Scholarship and Leadership Training Scholarship Program are available in the counseling office.  Requirements include the following:  students of good character, demonstrated leadership ability, good academic record, financial need and most importantly, a commitment to return and serve Northeast Tennessee.  SHHS will nominate two outstanding students.  However, you may be nominated by your church, scout troop, or community group.  The deadline for consideration at Science Hill is September 16th.

 

The QuestBridge 2010 National College Match program information is available at www.questbridge.org.  This program assists academically gifted students from low-income families gain admission and full four year scholarships to leading colleges.  The application is online and must be completed by September 30, 2010.  A flyer is available in the counseling office

 

Seniors interested in applying for the competitive Danforth Scholars Program at Washington University in St. Louis should see a counselor soon.  The requirements for this scholarship are academic excellence; service, and leadership.    The deadline for counselors to submit nominations is October 1st.  Schedule an appointment with your counselor today if you are interested.

 

Louisiana State University has revamped scholarship opportunities for nonresident students.  If you are interested in LSU, stop by the counseling office and pick up a flyer with information about scholarship opportunities.  The admissions application must be completed and by November 15th for full consideration of these scholarships.
