Parents participate in adult education classes according to their needs. This may include courses to prepare for the GED and/or ESL courses to increase English Language skills through the Johnson City E.S.O.L. program. If you complete these programs, you are still eligible to participate in Even Start activities (until your youngest child is eight years old) as you work toward new educational or career goals. The family in the left picture are participants in the program. The dad recently attained his GED ; the mom is in the GED program and hopes to attain the GED soon as well. Johnson City Even Start is pleased and proud to provide assistance to these young parents. |

If a parent in the Even Start program completes their G.E.D., they are still eligible for our services until their youngest child turns eight years old. Even Start can help parents make the transition to higher education or employment. |
