Cherokee Elementary

Cherokee Elementary School is a Pre-K through 4th grade School located at the base of Buffalo Mountain within the Cherokee National Forest. We are part of the Johnson City Schools District. School starts at 8:15 AM and we dismiss at 3:15 PM.

Tardies, Early Dismissal

Parents must sign students in when tardy and out when leaving school early. After three unexcused tardies, students will serve time missed at his/her teacher's discretion.

Absences

Parents should call the office when students are absent. Work may be picked up in the office. Please call by 9:00 am to give the teacher plenty of time to get the work together.

Heroes Around Me Reflections

Calling for all REFLECTION entries! Due: Tuesday, November 13th. Students that submit work will get a coupon for a free Barberitos Kids Meal. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their creative side. Each student can submit one piece of their own 'work' in each of the following 6 categories: Visual arts, music composition, photography, literature, film, and dance choreography. Encourage your child to pick one they love, and to go for it! Be sure your child submits their work to the front office with the "Student Entry Form" which can be found on the bulletin board at the entrance to the school.
