Hello Indian Trail Families,

It is hard to believe that the 2018-2019 school year is winding down. Our students have worked very hard during this testing season and I am very proud of their efforts. We have had a great testing structure this year that was made possible by the help of several parents volunteering to serve as proctors. I feel very blessed to have such a great support system that consists of parents and our PTA. They have added so much enrichment to our school through fundraising efforts, teacher luncheons, maintaining Anna’s closet, and so many other important activities. As we finish the testing season, we have many field trips scheduled, 5th and 6th grade awards nights and an exciting Field Day/Variety Show to anticipate. We are so grateful for a fantastic student body and their families. Thank you for all you do.

Nominations are now open for next school year’s PTA Officers:

  • Walkathon
  • Community Outreach


  • Must be a PTA member
  • Must be enthusiastic and supportive of the PTA
  • Should be willing to give PTA a satisfactory level of priority and commitment, including attendance at monthly meetings
  • Understand the requirements for officers working with funds


  • A potential candidate can nominate themselves or be nominated by others
  • Candidates nominated by others will be asked for their consent
  • If you are nominating someone, please make sure to provide their contact information
  • Nominations will also be open to the floor on election day before voting begins
  • Descriptions of each position are available upon request

Volunteer Opportunity!

We are in need of Proctors for TCAP testing. Testing dates are April 15, 22-26.  No experience necessary!  You can volunteer for any or all days!

Shifts available:

  • 7:45 AM to 10:45 AM
  • 7:45 AM to 12:30 PM

Indian Trail Speedway ITIS FIELD DAY

May 16th:

  • 5th Grade, 8:20 AM to 11:10 AM
  • 6th Grade, 11:45 AM to 2:20 PM

May 20th:

  • Variety Show

Items needed for donation:

  1. Empty 2 liter bottles
  2. Empty milk jugs
  3. Monetary donations (make checks payable to ITIS PTA-Field Day)

Teddy's Fund

Teddy Hartsaw was the head custodian for many years at Indian Trail. He met the students at morning drop off with a smile and positive greeting. If Teddy saw a child in the cafeteria who needed money, he would reach into his pocket and pay for their meal.

Unexpectedly in July of 2015 Teddy passed away. After Teddy’s passing, teachers - current and past - and parents wanted to honor his dedication to the children. “Teddy's Fund” was established as the school’s emergency lunch fund to carry on his giving to the students of Indian Trail.

This account has been depleted many times, but through the giving hearts of many has always been replenished. Monetary donations to this much needed fund can be made by sending a check to the school made out to Indian Trail with “Teddy’s Fund” as the memo. Non-refrigerated food items such as microwavable soup and macaroni bowls can also be dropped off at the office to have on hand in the cafeteria.

Box Tops For Education

Our Box Top collection is ongoing.  Our numbers are down this year.  Please clip and send those Box Tops in!  Each Box Top is money for our school.

Important Information

Attention 6th Grade Parents and Guardians: Vaccine Booster Records are needed for Liberty Bell. Tennessee law requires all rising 7th graders to have a second chicken pox (varicella) shot as well as a TdaP booster. What you might not know is that each parent/guardian must provide documentation to LBMS. This information must be submitted to Liberty Bell before your child can start school in August. For additional information, you can contact your healthcare provider, local health department, or go to the official website.

Cultural Arts Contest Winners

Congratulations to all those students who entered a project into the Cultural Arts Contests! All the entries were amazing! The projects have been submitted and judged at both the School and City level! The entries were incredible! Indian Trail did really well in all categories thanks to the students hard work and high standards!

At the State Level:

2 Students from ITIS were awarded prizes at the State level for their contest projects. At the State level they award only one "Award of Excellence" and two "Awards of Merit" in each category for all entries in the state.

Citizenship Essay Winners

"if our founding fathers were alive today..."

  • Addison Phillips (6th Grade) earned the "Award of Merit" for her Citizenship Essay. 
  • Shreyas Singh (6th Grade) earned the "Award of Excellence" for his Citizenship Essay.

Anna's Closet

Indian Trail has been so blessed by the donations we have received this year for Anna’s Closet! The recent sock drive was a huge success and we have plenty of socks for anyone in need. I would like to say a special thanks to all of the parents and grandparents who have volunteered their time to help in the closet this
year. It is a big job to keep the closet organized and ready to be used by the students and staff, and we could not have done it without your help! If you have any questions about Anna’s Closet, please email
