Slam Dunk on Cancer

The ugly disease, cancer, has affected each one of us. We often feel helpless when a loved one faces this enemy. At North Side, we are taking an offensive strategy.  We are hosting an employee basketball game fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and we are playing in honor of our kindergarten teacher, Amy Barnett, who is bravely fighting the disease. Bring your family and friends to the North Side gymnasium on Monday, January 28 at 6:30 pm to watch current employees (Now School Goodies) play against former employees (Old School Oldies). Names like Tonya Neas, Josh Simmons, Robert Hyder, Renee Wood, Melissa Whitehead, Damon Johnson and Johnny Tucker will be on the “Old” roster. Come see the Now School and Old School cheerleaders “bring it on”.  And what a showing that will be! Current NS staff will face off against Johnnie Sue Hawley, Kaytee Jones, Nicole Cross, Eva Brummit, Kathie Storie, Heather Lawson, Gloria McClinton, Peggy Crumwell, Nikki Kirkland and Anna Smitley. Additionally, Science Hills’ Unity dance team will be performing at half-time; if we can raise 1, 000 dollars for the event, our 4th grade teacher Mr. Johnson will get his head shaved.
