Science Hill Band students receive All-State Honors
Recently, six Science Hill band students participated in the Tennessee All-State Band and Orchestra Clinic in Nashville at the Opryland Convention Center. The students auditioned for the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association in February and were selected from over 1,000 high school students from East Tennessee band programs. Each student placed in the top portion of their instrument’s audition, designating them as an All-State Musician.
The students are (from left to right in picture above) Science Hill junior Ashton Meade, oboe – student of ETSU oboe professor Dr. Heather Killmeyer; Science Hill junior Laura Dugan, clarinet – student of Tom Crawford; Science Hill senior Elisabeth Holley – student of ETSU Flute Professor Dr. Rebecca Paluzzi; Science Hill senior Aleena DaCruz, tuba – student of Aaron Hurley; Science Hill senior Grayson Vermillion, trumpet – student of Appalachian State University trumpet professor Dr. James Stokes; and Science Hill freshman Hayden Addington, trumpet – student of ETSU professor of trumpet Dr. Brett Long.
