Johnson City Schools set to host “A Look into our Schools”


Johnson City Schools will host “A Look into our Schools” on February 14 from 10 A.M. to noon inside the Board Room at Columbus Powell. The program is jointly sponsored by Title I and the PTA Council and will allow the community to hear presentations from students and teachers about some of the unique and engaging teaching and learning tools they use.

“It’s a wonderful way to showcase some of the new initiatives that are in our schools,” Johnson City Schools Director of Accountability and School Improvement Dr. Robbie Anderson said. “We are always striving to be better and do better, so each year we bring to the public our new and unique initiatives from each of our schools.”

The schedule and presentation are as follows:

Science Hill High School – AP Capstone Project

Liberty Bell Middle School – STEAM Innovation Lab/Robotics Club

Cherokee Elementary – Lucy Calkins Writing

Lake Ridge Elementary – “Rise and Shine on the Ridge”

Mountain View Elementary – DreamBox

South Side Elementary – STEM Buddies/ STEM Lab

Towne Acres Elementary – Distinguished Gentleman’s Club

Woodland Elementary – The Restorative Classroom/Simplistic Strategies to Engage & Inspire

Lee Patterson – Family Engagement Policy
