Mrs. Lawson graduated from Milligan College in 2003 and has stayed in East Tennessee ever since. She has taught at University School on ETSU’s campus as well as at Boone’s Creek Elementary School in Washington County. Her husband, John, is a graduate student at ETSU studying to be a marriage and family therapist.
The music program at North Side strictly adheres to the music standards outlined by the state of Tennessee. In addition, we use music as a way to teach life skills such as self-confidence and teamwork. We strive to incorporate technology and aspects of the science and math curriculum in order to reinforce what is taught in the classroom. The music department’s goal is to prepare students for their future by giving them the critical thinking skills, teamwork, and self-esteem necessary for a productive and bright future.
