Science Hill Choir
Policies and Procedures

Classroom Policies

  • Do not be tardy.  If a student is tardy to class, he must obtain an admit from the 10-12 Attendance Office.  When the bell rings, go immediately to your seat.

  • No gum, candy, food, or drinks will be allowed in class.  Bottled water is allowed if it is in a container with a lid and does not distract from rehearsal.

  • All equipment, teacher office, phone, storage room, music library, and white boards are for instructional use only and are off limits to students.

  • Public display of affection follows the same guidelines as the student handbook.

All other areas will be dealt with according to the

              guidelines in the student handbook.

Concert Policies

  • Always report 30 minutes before concert time.

  • If you are enjoying another group’s performance, be quiet while they are performing.  (This includes groups from Science Hill).

  •  Applause should be spirited but not obnoxious.  Please use common sense in your support.

  • Never exit the auditorium while a group is performing.

Course Requirements

  • Be committed to the choir.  Regular attendance by itself is not enough.  Each student is expected to practice at home as well as participate during class.

  • Bring a working pencil to class; you will need it to take notes in the music.

  • Attend all rehearsals and performances.  These will count toward your grade.  From time to time, there will be extra after school rehearsals.  Students are responsible for arranging make-up work and times with your director.  All three choirs should plan now to rehearse at Graduation practice on Friday, May 26, and perform at Graduation on Saturday, May 28, 2006.  This is the final exam for Chorus.

  • Be responsible for the care and return of your music.  Lost or damaged music will be charged to the student.

  • Be responsible for the care and return of your uniform.  Lost or damaged uniforms will be replaced at the student’s expense.  Both boys and girls will need black, closed toe shoes for concerts.   Girls will need pearls to wear with their dresses.
