Frank Tannewitz Frank Tannewitz graduated in 1940. He enjoyed watching Plowboy Farmer's final powerful teams that featured players like Kermit Tipton, Vincent Darden and Jack Osborne. Tannewitz's half brother, Red Latteral, had excelled on Farmer's teams in the mid- to early-30s. Tannewitz began a lengthy span of filming football games when coach Niles "Mule" Brown decided it'd be advantageous for evaluation and scouting. Tannewitz was a business teacher from 1947-58, then became the guidance counselor until his retirement in 1985. Much like his successor, Jane Pitts, Tannewitz made many students feel more significant, including a great many athletes.
