NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

ATTENTION SENIORS ETSU will host FINANCIAL AID NIGHT at the D.P. Culp Center Ballroom on Thursday, December 11 at 6 pm.  Information on FAFSA, Lottery scholarship, State and Federal financial aid will be presented.  Representatives from 12 colleges will be on site to answer questions.

 

All FCA members – please do not forget to bring gifts or donations for the two children we have sponsored for Elves Inc.  We will meet in the gym at 7:20am on Tue Dec 2nd to collect items or you can give them to Sierra Galloway, Brandon McAuley, or Coach Edwards.

 

FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA will meet Wednesday, December 3 in Room 815 from 2:50 – 3:30. Those competing in regional-level events MUST be present. Other items on the agenda are our new web page, committee assignments, and Business Achievement Awards. If you are unable to attend Wednesday’s meeting, see an advisor by the end of the day on Thursday.

 

Community service hours for ninth through twelfth graders may be achieved by wrapping gifts for the ELVES, INC. project, sponsored by the 8/9 Drama Department. We will meet in the Little Theatre on the 8/9 campus. The times are as follows: Dec. 1, 2:45-4:45 p.m.; Dec. 2, 2:45-5:45; Dec. 3, 2:45-5:45; Dec. 4, 2:45-4:45. If necessary, we will also be wrapping next week: Dec. 8, 2:45-4:45 p.m.; Dec. 9, 2:45-5:45; Dec. 10, 2:45-5:45; Dec. 11, 2:45-4:45.

Tired of the Winter Blahs? Come check out to the SHHS Remote Control Car Club. Out first meeting will be Monday, Dec 8 @ 2:45 room 935 (Tech Center). Featured will be 18th scale RC Cars.

 

This is just a reminder that the 10-12 Library will be closed for testing all day (including lunch) on December 2—5 and on December 8. Students should check out, return, or renew materials before or after school only. Teachers, please do not send any students to the library on the above dates.

 

All girls interested in playing volleyball-Weight lifting and conditioning will begin Tuesday, December 2nd.  Plan to meet in the drill hall at 3:pm, we will be finish up at  3:45. Please dress to be in outdoors or indoors

 

Let’s escape from this cold weather and meet to discuss a trip to Spain!  Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7PM, all Spanish students and their parents who are interested in traveling to Barcelona and Madrid are invited to a meeting in Room 211 to organize a trip in May 2010 (about 18 months from now).  In order for the trip to take place, at least twenty participants must register.  Come get an itinerary and find out details!  (Not a school sponsored trip)

 

Purchase your sports pass now. Student passes are $40.00 and adult passes are $60.00. Sports Pass forms are located in the main office. Sports Passes can be used for admission to all regular season home games with the exception of Varsity Football. Please contact Janet Phillips at the SHHS Student Activities office ( 232 -2205) for additional information.

 

Support the JC Council of PTAs annual fundraiser at Barnes & Noble on Sunday, Dec. 6.  Mention Johnson City Council of PTAs at checkout and a portion of your purchase will benefit PTA programs.

 

Seniors:  If you have not ordered your cap & gown or graduation supplies, you can place your order on-line at www.Jostens.com or see the Jostens Representative on  Friday, December 5, 2008 from 11-1pm in the cafeteria.  This will be the last time the Jostens representative will be on campus to take your order.  A late fee will be added to all orders received after December 19, 2008
