JCS to return to in-person learning model on January 11; hybrid in grades 5-12

Johnson City Schools will return to an in-person learning model starting Monday, January 11. Students in grades PreK-4 will return to in-person learning five days per week. Indian Trail students will be on a hybrid schedule the week of January 11 to January 15 and return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 19. The hybrid model for Indian Trail will be communicated to families through their teachers. Liberty Bell and Science Hill students will be on a hybrid schedule until spring break (click here for SH & LB Hybrid schedule).


Attention Johnson City, TN Residents:

Johnson City Schools is attempting to locate and identify children ages 3-22 with disabilities and children suspected of having a disability. The child must live in the city limits of Johnson City. Please contact the Office of Special Programs at 423-434-5235 to schedule a screening to determine if an evaluation is needed. Areas of disability are:

Autism, Deaf-Blindness, Deaf/Hearing Impaired, Developmentally Delayed, Emotional Disturbance, Functionally Delayed, Intellectually Gifted, Multiple Disabilities, Other Health Impaired, Orthopedic Impairment, Specific Learning Disability, Speech or Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.


Johnson City Schools to provide free breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under

Johnson City Schools is pleased to announce that with the action taken by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), free breakfast and lunch will be provided to any child 18 and under until June 30, 2021. Click here for more information.
