Science Hill releases details about student schedules, remote start

Science Hill High School will return on a remote schedule beginning January 5, 2021, and continue until further notice from Johnson City Schools.  Because of possible scheduling changes for remote students, the following course types will open for student participation in Canvas as follows:

All Canvas courses will open and students must check PowerSchool for their period-by-period schedule.  Students must then log into their Canvas courses to read specific information from their teachers about assignments and required live Zoom sessions.

Some Canvas-courses and Edmentum-based courses will not open until January 19. These courses will be noted in PowerSchool as “Remote Learning” and students should check their Canvas courses for messages from their teachers or Edmentum facilitators.

“We are excited to again offer our Science Hill students flexible course offerings this spring,” said Dr. Josh Carter, interim principal of Science Hill High School. “Our different course start dates will allow our counselors and administrative team time to ensure students are in the best classes suited to their particular needs. It is very important that students and their families log-in to PowerSchool and Canvas on January 5 to establish communication with teachers.”

If students have questions about schedules, they should contact their counselors via email.  Counselor contacts be found here
