Our educators have access to high quality, research-based professional learning opportunities throughout the school year through The Learning Center. Professional development is tracked carefully to ensure that every employee has the opportunity to expand knowledge, learn new skills, or enhance practice. Site-based planning guides much of the professional learning at the school level. These opportunities are available through The Learning Center in the Central Office. We are located at 100 E. Maple Street, Johnson City, TN 37601. Our hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Learning Center launched new Learning Stream PD management software in SY 2021-2022. Benefits of the software include streamlined registration processes, required in-service evaluations, and certificate storage. Certified staff members utilize their Learning Stream student accounts to view and print in-service transcripts, track all in-service hours, and retrieve certificates of completion from a central location. Training instructors also have access to their personal training records and associated data. This software includes a CANVAS integration module which allows Johnson City Schools to continue building an internal training program dedicated to the needs of our staff with more asynchronous course options.
