Registration 2026-2027

Welcome to the JCS 2026-2027 school year registration page! Students return to school on August 3rd, 2026. Please review registration options #1-6 below before selecting the appropriate registration page link. Option #7 directs you to our JCS Virtual Learning Program, Market Street School, (grades 1-12) interest application. Translation options are located on the top, left-hand corner of our website. 

1. Pre-Kindergarten Application

  • For all students applying for Pre-K.
  • Admission is not guaranteed.
  • Pre-K application is CLOSED and will OPEN on April 7, 2026. 

 

2. Kindergarten Registration

  • For all in-zone students starting Kindergarten.
  • This includes returning Pre-K students.
  • Kindergarten registration is CLOSED.

3. New Students Grades 1-12 Registration

  • For new students entering grades 1-12 living inside Johnson City city limits.
  • New students living outside Johnson City city limits see #4 below.
  • New students (grades 1-12) registration is CLOSED.

4. New Tuition Students Registration

  • For new students K-12 living outside of Johnson City city limits.
  • Approval and payment are required.
  • Returning tuition students see #6.
  • New tuition students registration is CLOSED.

5. Open Enrollment Transfers

  • For current and new in-zone transfer students living inside Johnson City city limits wishing to attend a school they are not currently zoned for.
  • Open application process begins March 23 and ends April 21.

6. Returning Students Grades 1-12 Annual Registration

  • Annual registration is required for all students grades 1-12 who completed 2025-2026 school year with Johnson City Schools.
  • This includes returning tuition students.
  • Returning student registration will be posted in July 2026.

7. Market Street School

Market Street School is a fully online, mostly asynchronous alternative to the traditional in-person classroom experience for students in grades 1-12. The program is offered through a collaborative partnership between Johnson City Schools and Pearson, a notable name in education with 20+ years of experience in online schools. Market Street School consists of academically challenging coursework that requires high levels of self-discipline, time management, and academic perseverance. The interest form for Market Street School is now open for  the 2026-2027 school year. Registration will be open until August 14, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Once you have filled out the interest form, Market Street School will reach out to you via email to let you know the next steps for enrollment.
