Digital Citizenship

Our goal is to ensure our students practice online safety at all times.  We recommend that you take a few minutes to discuss online safety with your child and maintain frequent conversations with them about their online activities and behavior.

Online Etiquette Tips

  • Always Be Respectful
Avoid sarcasm.  Being funny and being rude are not the same thing.  Be mindful of your tone when making comments.

  • No Inappropriate Material/Comments
Nothing is completely private online.  If it's not appropriate for the classroom, it's not appropriate online.  Follow the handbook guidelines.

  • Support Each Other
Kindness counts.  If a classmate has an incorrect answer or typo, don't ridicule them.  Practice kindness and be courteous.

  • Be Mindful of Your Environment
Think before you send.  Be polite and avoid negativity.  Don't complain on discussion forums.  Ask your teacher for help if you need it.

  • Be Safe Online
Pay attention to suspicious behavior.  Never give out personal information to strangers online.  When in doubt, ask an adult.  Your teacher will post assignments in a safe environment.

  • Be Ethical
Copy and paste is cheating.  If you're referencing someone else's work, make sure you give credit to your source.
