Dr. Chelsea Lee to takeover at Mountain View Elementary

 

 

Johnson City Schools Superintendent Dr. Steve Barnett announced the appointment of Dr. Chelsea Lee as the principal of Mountain View Elementary.

“I am confident that Dr. Chelsea Lee will do remarkable work at Mountain View Elementary,” Barnett said. “With Dr. Lee’s extensive experience as an assistant principal, district math coach, and dedicated educator across various elementary grades, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to lead Mountain View Elementary towards continued success."

Lee started the 2023-2024 school year as an assistant principal at Mountain View. Before making the move to administration, Lee served as a District Math Curriculum Specialist from 2021-2023. Lee started in the classroom at Woodland Elementary in 2009 and taught Kindergarten, third and fourth grade during her time there. In 2016 she transitioned to North Side Elementary to teach third and fourth grade.

Dr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise (2007), a Master of Science in Reading Education from the University of Tennessee (2009), and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University (2022).
