Pearce to oversee middle schools, Upchurch to lead Food Service

 

 

Johnson City Schools announced the placement of Tammy Pearce as Supervisor of Middle Schools and Hannah Upchurch as Supervisor of Food Service.

"We are pleased that Tammy and Hannah will assume these roles,” Johnson City Schools Superintendent Steve Barnett said. “Tammy’s extensive leadership experience and commitment to student success will greatly benefit our middle schools. Hannah’s expertise in nutrition and dedication to food service will enhance our meal programs. Their contributions will benefit our entire school community."

Pearce has been serving as the Supervisor of Student Services since 2018. Previously, she served as the principal of Liberty Bell Middle School from 2011 to 2018. Pearce also served as principal at Indian Trail from 2005 to 2011. Pearce earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education K-12 from ETSU in 1985 before earning her Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Tusculum College in 1996. Pearce later earned her Educational Specialist Degree in Supervision and Administration from ETSU in 2004.

Upchurch has served as the Assistant Food Service Director since 2018. Previously she worked as an assistant in food service and has experience serving meals in the schools to students. Upchurch earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from ETSU in 2017. She also holds a Master of Professional Studies in Leadership, Organization and Workforce Studies.
